In 2022, it's all about peaceful, calming, well-edited interiors. With many people still spending more time indoors, and an overall emphasis on minimizing stress of any kind, interior designers are transforming homes into retreat-like havens that incorporate soothing color palettes, natural materials, and spaces that can be... well... whatever you need. Whether you are designing an entire home, or just want to refresh a few rooms, here are the top new home design trends of 2022. Playing right into the natural theme, organic materials help to create a grounded, serene space. Look for furniture and accessories in natural-finish wood, wicker, rattan, stone or ceramic, and natural fiber rugs like wool, cotton, or jute. Even mirrors and other wall art can take a million different natural forms. Minimalism is both a way of life and a design aesthetic that can help accomplish that. Use only what's necessary; keep only what's meaningful and important.

One of the most important factors to consider when building a house or applying for a new home loan are the current interest rate levels. These rates help to determine exactly how much house you will be able to get out of your monthly investment based on the current market climate. Interest rates are essentially the amount that a lender charges you for the use of its assets. We at William Ryan Homes have built close relationships with our trusted lending partners over many years of being in business together. By far the biggest benefit of building your own home is the level of personalization that you are able to achieve that is simply not possible when buying from the resale market (without costly renovation). Another benefit of building new vs buying from the resale market is the lack of renovation costs that you can expect to incur. One of the biggest complaints when buying a used home is the unexpected costs that can arise after closing on the home.

William Ryan Homes was founded in 1992 by William J. Ryan. We have built more than 11,000 new homes across the country. Maybe you want all the perks of buying new construction, but you need to move quicker. For such a situation, we sometimes carry an inventory of quick move-in homes that were constructed using years of proprietary data to ensure that it includes all the best features that homeowners want. Click on the Quick Move-In Homes tab to see a complete, updated list. The average time can vary based on location, but on average, building a new construction house takes between 6-to-8 months from the day you purchase your house to the day you move in. Weather, material shortages, permitting, and other factors outside our control can contribute to a lengthier process.

While energy efficiency is not a feature you can see or touch, it has a big impact in the long run - on both your wallet and the comfort level in your home. In the housing industry, energy performance and efficiency are measured using the Home Efficiency Rating System (HERS) Index. Developed by the Residential Energy Services Network, or RESNET, the HERS Index is the most comprehensive home efficiency rating system in North America. The lower the HERS Index, the higher the energy efficiency of the home. That means lower energy costs. Note HERS Index scores are not measured for used or resale homes, since they are typically less energy efficient than new construction homes.
