Forbes Magazine ranked Tampa as Florida’s best city to live in. “Tampa was special because it has pristine beaches, impressive public transportation, platforms promoting the arts, major sports teams and history museums,” according to the Forbes report.
In addition, the report cited Tampa’s tourism and MacDill Air Force Base as well as the city having an influx of employers across several industries ranging from advanced manufacturing to financial services and life sciences.
The criteria for the rankings included analyzing Florida cities on key lifestyle factors like average home price and personal income per capita. Furthermore, the ratings take into account the size of the city, diversity, the cost of living, unemployment, and crime rate as well as community amenities like public transit and access to healthcare.
The top 10 cities in the ranking include (in order): Tampa, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Cape Coral, Orlando, Miami, Melbourne, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Pensacola.
Tampa recently ranked No. 9 on the list of 50 cities by Money Magazine based on the city’s housing affordability, cool nightlife in Ybor City, quality museums and theme parks like the Dali Museum and Busch Gardens, and top-notch professional sports teams.
Also, Tampa made the list of the nation’s top 10 hottest real estate markets in 2022, compiled by Realtor.com as part of its Housing Forecast 2022. The top 10 housing markets led the nation in listing price appreciation and home sales growth in 2022.
