William Ryan Homes Builds Home via Internet For Navy Lieutenant Commander Penny Perez

William Ryan Homes has long-been a participant in the ‘Building Homes for Heroes’ Program, most recently helping build a home in Tampa, Florida for Sergeant Joel Travers.  In Chicago, William Ryan Homes has answered a similar call helping Navy Lieutenant Commander, Penny Perez, build a home for her family at Rockwell Place in Lakemoor.

“My two children and I are going to be heading to the Great Lakes Naval station after my four years in Guam and another four in San Diego,” Lieutenant Commander Perez said.  “With my new rank, I am able to live off base and wanted to find a home and a neighborhood that we could thrive in.  I started searching the internet for homes in the Chicagoland area, particularly those close to the base, and William Ryan Homes caught my attention.”

Located just west of Route 59 and south of Route 120 in Lakemoor, Rockwell Place is in the heart of scenic McHenry County and is served by Grant High School in District 124 and Big Hollow School Dist. 38.  William Ryan Homes, an award-winning Chicagoland homebuilder for 20 years, is offering single-family homes priced from $189,990 with up to 3,157 square feet of living space, including three to four bedrooms; 2 ½ baths; two or three-car garages; second-floor laundry rooms per plan; 42” kitchen cabinets; 9’ first-floor ceilings; granite vanity tops in bathrooms; concrete driveways; and fully-sodded homesites.

According to Deborah Beaver, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for William Ryan Homes, helping Lieutenant Commander Penny Perez was fun, but had its challenges.

“Since Lieutenant Commander Perez could not fly in to make selections and sign paperwork, we had to do everything via email and internet,” Beaver said.  “She selected the Jasper II floor plan, her homesite, interior and exterior colors with the help of her sales professional and our interior design expert strictly from photos, color samples and selections on-line.  Paperwork was scanned and sent and meetings were handled via conference call. Lieutenant Commander Perez will move into her new home in February and just came in two weeks ago to finalize everything.  It’s a testament to our company and the personal attention each of our employees give to every home owner.  We know that those in the Armed Forces serving our country may not be able to be on-hand when making decisions.  We are currently working with another Serviceman stationed in Kuwait to ensure his William Ryan home is ready for his January homecoming.  The bottom line is we are dedicated to the needs of our home owners.”

Lieutenant Commander Perez selected the 2,879-square-foot Jasper II with four bedrooms; 2 ½ baths; second-floor laundry; formal living room with two-story ceiling; large, open kitchen with breakfast area; formal dining room; spacious family room; master bedroom suite with his-and-hers walk-in closets and luxury bath with separate vanities, corner soaking tub and shower; basement; and attached three-car tandem garage.

“I saw the Jasper II on the website, went through a virtual tour and was really impressed with the overall square footage and value offered in the home,” Lieutenant Commander Perez said.  “It gives my nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son room to grow.  I really like the open kitchen and family room area where we can spend time together just hanging out after dinner and watching television.”

Lieutenant Commander Perez, an operating room nurse, can enjoy peace-of-mind knowing that her William Ryan Home includes energy-saving and healthy-home features.
The shingle vent attic ventilation and passive mitigation systems ensure that the same air is not circulated throughout the home and that fresh air is brought into the home creating a much healthier environment.  A 93% energy efficient furnace, California corner insulation technique and low E windows save home owners on average $1800 a year in heating and air conditioning.  William Ryan also includes EPRO water proofing and interior drain tiles that guarantee a dry basement and a 1-2-10 Transferable Warrantee.

“William Ryan and my sales person, Pam, have done an amazing job throughout the entire process,” Lieutenant Commander Perez said.  “Pam kept me well-informed every-step-of-the-way, she was very responsive and has introduced me to neighbors via email so that the children and I have friends before we even get there.  She also drops me emails just to say hello or to see how we are doing.  She’s made this a wonderful experience.”

While Rockwell Place is approaching close-out, buyers can purchase the same great home designs, including the Jasper II, at the nearby Preserves at McDonald Woods in Lindenhurst.  Ten two-story plans are offered at The Preserves and are priced from $260,990 with up to 3,192 square feet of living space, lookout basements and cul-de-sac homesites that overlook a nature preserve.  This intimate community consists of 28 homesites and a model if open daily for viewing.

“As part of our grand opening celebration at The Preserves we are offering 50% off of options and upgrades of to $30,000,” Beaver said.  “In addition, loan programs are available for a little as 1% down and for buyers who need to sell an existing home we offer a special program where they can purchase a new William Ryan home and we will lease their existing home.”

Always putting their home buyers first, William Ryan Homes offers a unique program for their buyers.  MyHome 24-7 is an individualized web site for each William Ryan Home homeowner. Buyers use the site to view floor plans, option pricing and use a mortgage calculator; select and visualize kitchen and exterior color schemes; view their specific homebuilding schedule with daily construction updates; and explore home maintenance tips and on-line warranty requests.
